LifePortTM Recharges the Modular Housing Market

Envision Solar Debuts Sun-Powered Carport at EVS 23, to Charge Electric Vehicles

Anaheim, Calif. - EVS 23 - December 3, 2007 - Envision Solar International Corporation, a provider of solar integrated building systems, today introduced its residential flagship product, LifePortTM. LifePort debuts today at the International Electric Vehicle Symposium and Exposition, EVS 23, where it will serve as the solar recharge station for the show's host of electric vehicles (EV). Please visit www.lifeportsolar.com to pre-order now, or reserve a LifePort in person at EVS 23.

The introduction of Envision Solar's LifePort represents a major shift in residential access to solar. As more homeowners consider adding solar panels to their homes, the absence of well-designed, easy to install solar structures has become evident. Designed by an award-winning team of architects and engineers, the patent pending modular carport - LifePort - is the first of its kind to offer high-design solar power for the home, while also serving as an at-home recharge source for the homeowner that drives an EV.

Bringing solar home:

  • LifePort's recycled, light-gauge steel frame accommodates a variety of customized styles and options to suit a home's exterior and is shipped directly to homeowners with an easy-to-assemble framework, an installation manual and video tutorials available online.
  • LifePort's solar modules, standing seam metal roofing and electronics are customized to meet homeowners' unique energy requirements. LifePorts can join together to meet increased space and energy needs.
  • Additional potential uses include: garage, storage shed, sunroom, patio cover, workshop, or pet barn.

LifePort's solar panels must be positioned to face south and will generate DC power that is sent through an inverter to the utility grid. This, in effect, slows the residential user's meter down or even spins it backyards, saving homeowners money and potentially eliminating monthly utility bills. Detailed information regarding permitting, construction and electrical installation is available at www.lifeportsolar.com.

EVS 23 LifePort technical specifications:

  • Rating: 4.8 kW (DC)1

  • Dimensions: 23' x 23' footprint1, 8' interior clearance
  • Roof heights: 10' sloping up to 13'11" with a 10 degree roof pitch

1 Production LifePort footprint will be 23' x 23' to boost potential energy production up to 6.4 kW.
